    • Health and Spinal Injury

    Health and spinal injuries are common in almost every sport, including snowboarding. The risk of head injury is twice as compared to skiing in snowboarding. The burst fractures are becoming common among the snowboarders, followed by anterior compression fractures.

    • Frostbite and Hypothermia

    Your health condition can not be ignored as you are out in the cold and the temperature does not suit everyone, which can lead to frostbite and hypothermia. This happens when you are out in the cold and your body loses heat faster than it can produce it. 

    • Delayed-onset muscle soreness

    Too much exertion leads or when you start a new activity, your muscles aches and you feel swelling in your body. Ignoring the pain for too long can lead to serious health issues.

    Shoulder dislocation is again a serious type of injury that is common in snowboarding. Its seriousness depends on the degree of injury, which further states the recovery period as conservative treatment or surgery in case of serious injury.

    • Anterior and posterior cruciate ligament )ACL/PCL) injuries

    It generally happens with a sudden twisting while the feet are planted. This type of injury is generally treated conservatively, but in Severe cases, like a complete tear, surgery and reconstruction may be required. 

    • Meniscus Tears

    The meniscus allows smooth motion as it is the cartilage in your knee. The treatment depends on the degree of injury. In case of minor injury, the treatment is usually conservative, but large tears may need surgery. 

    • Other Injuries

    Other minor injuries that might turn out to be a major one depending on the degree of injury are hand injury, knee injuries, neck injuries etc. A sprain is a common injury in snowboarding.
